Deputy Trent Faris is the Public Information Officer for the York County Sheriff's Office.
In Deputy Faris' absence, Community Relations Officer Sgt. Johnathan Gilbert is the Assistant PIO.
Official incident reports can be obtained at the Moss Justice Center located at 1675 York Hwy., York, SC 29745.
Additionally journalists can email a report request to the YCSO Public Information Officer, Deputy Trent Faris.
No. We do have offices located in York, Clover, Rock Hill and Fort Mill for your convenience to pick up a copy of a report. It is best to know the report number before asking the district office clerks for a report.
1. DO NOT call Public Safety Communications, aka. Dispatch seeking information pertaining to law enforcement matters. You are tying up a phone line for someone calling in with a legitimate emergency.
2. The PIO is available via phone, text or email. Please be patient when seeking information from the PIO.

After the arrest warrant has been served to the suspect, the arrest warrant is made available. Simply contact the PIO and they will attempt to get a copy of the arrest warrant from the Detective or Deputy over the case. Additionally if an arrest warrant has been served copies can be obtained at the York County Clerk of Court Office at the Moss Justice Center.

In order to offset the costs incurred by the York County Sheriff’s Office for searching, retrieving, and redacting public records, the following fee schedule applies:
A deposit of 25% of the estimated costs for searching, retrieving, redacting and reproducing records may be required prior to the York County Sheriff’s Office undertaking the search. The full balance must be paid at the time of production of the records.
Inspecting, copying, and production of public records are subject to all applicable exemptions and exclusions provided by the FOIA or other state and federal laws. If public records are available for electronic transmission by the York County Sheriff’s Office, per page copying charges do not apply; however, you will still be charged for staff time spent searching for, retrieving, and redacting the records. The York County Sheriff’s Office is not required to create an electronic version of a public record where one does not exist.
Pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. § 30-2-50, obtaining or using public records for commercial solicitation directed to any person in the State of South Carolina is prohibited and is punishable by a fine of up to $500 and imprisonment up to one year, or both.
