The York County Sheriff's Office has been an accredited by The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement (CALEA) since 2008. In 2014, the York County Sheriff's Office was awarded "Accreditation with Excellence" from CALEA. Commissioners noted in their final report about the YCSO, "the agency had every file for inspection in order, which means zero non-compliance, which is almost unheard of in the inspection process."
