YORK COUNTY, SC – Growing a little facial hair for a good cause can go a long way. Sheriff Kevin Tolson is excited to announce the York County Sheriff's Office raised $2,260, exceeding the goal of $2,200 durning No-Shave November. The YCSO joined law enforcement agencies across York County in raising money for the Special Olympics through No-Shave November. For a donation of $20, male deputies and staff could go shave free, bypassing the shaving regulations for the agency.
To include female deputies and staff, Sheriff Tolson allowed female deputies to wear a pink band on their badges and/or a pink t-shirt with uniforms in lieu of the standard black t-shirt for the flat fee of $10.
At midnight on November 30th, 2018 Deputies in uniform will conclude the No-Shave November and revert back to the standard clean shaven look for the York County Sheriff's Office.
In 2017, Sheriff’s Office employees raised $2,100 participating in No-Shave November.
