YORK COUNTY, SC – York County Detectives have arrested Tyler Wayne Montgomery, 19, in connection with the April 10, 2018, homicide investigation off Adnah Church Road in Rock Hill.
Detectives are still investigating information about a second suspect possibly involved in the shooting.
“Our Detectives and Criminal Intelligence Unit worked diligently throughout the night building leads to identify Tyler Montgomery as a suspect,” said Sheriff Kevin Tolson. “It was through hard work and relentless pursuit we were able to make an arrest so quickly.”
On April 10, at 4:45 PM, YCSO Deputies were called to the intersection of Highway 5 and Adnah Church Road after a South Carolina Highway Patrol discovered 23-year-old victim in need of a medical assistance from an apparent gunshot wound. Immediately, Deputies began searching for two possible suspects from witnesses. The YCSO K-9 Unit and State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Helicopter assisted in the search.
York County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim once all next of kin have been notified.
Montgomery is being held at the York County Detention Center.
