YORK COUNTY, SC – For the first time in the 12-year history of the KDI Basic Dignitary Protection Course, a YCSO student is the first team leader to also receive the Top Student award. Sheriff Kevin Tolson and KDI, an international security consulting and tactical training company, would like to congratulate YCSO Investigator Brandy Werner for her selection as Top Student for Class #23-10 of the KDI Basic Dignitary Protection Course.

Lead Instructor and KDI Founder and CEO Karl de la Guerra says the Top Student Award is a unanimous selection by the Instructor Cadre for the one individual who demonstrates the highest attributes of the dignitary protection industry.

KDI Protective Services of South Carolina is a state-licensed private security agency specializing in executive protection. 15 YCSO deputies have taken the KDI executive protection course. Over the years, YCSO deputies have been called upon to provide protective details for political officials such as former Vice President Mike Pence, the Chinese Ambassador, and Congressman Ralph Norman.
