YORK COUNTY, SC – Operation March Madness leads to 40 arrests, and the seizure of more than 528 grams of illegal drugs out of the community. Throughout the month of March, the York County Sheriff’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol and York County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit, focused patrol efforts along Carowinds Blvd. in Fort Mill, SC to combat criminal activity plaguing the businesses in the area.
“We drew a line in the sand and said enough is enough along Carowinds Blvd.,” said Sheriff Kevin Tolson. “Even though March is over, we will continue to focus our efforts to stop criminal behavior in Fort Mill, and other problem areas of York County.”
Of the 40 arrests, half of those arrested were from outside of South Carolina.

- Cocaine/Crack – 4.13 grams
- Ecstasy – 2.25 grams

These totals do not include arrests/seizures made by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, who also assisted with the targeted enforcement efforts.
