[ARCHIVED] Man arrested after jumping in front of, entering a moving school bus

Patrol Car behind Stopped School Bus

YORK COUNTY, SC – A man has been charged after he entered a Rock Hill school bus with no children on board. On Feb. 10th at 6:25 a.m. Nicolas Trey Hubbard, 30, jumped in front of a moving school bus near the 4200 block of Cureton Ferry Road in the Catawba community.

Hubbard, who appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, then climbed onto the roof of the school bus via the hood entered the bus through the top emergency hatch. The driver who was physically uninjured, was able to call 9-1-1 to report the incident. Hubbard also took a fire extinguisher and sprayed it inside of the bus. 

Deputies were able to take Hubbard into custody near Poverty Hill Ln. and South Anderson Rd. Hubbard was charged with interfering with the operation of a school bus and taken to the York County Detention Center. Further charges may be pending.
