[ARCHIVED] York County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Police Academy Returns for 2023

Citizens Academy Is Full

Due to the enormous interest in the York County Sheriff's Office, we are no longer accepting applications for the 2023 Citizen's Academy. Please continue to follow us for when we open the application process this December (2023) for the 2024 class.

YORK COUNTY, SC - This year’s citizen’s police academy will consist of six sessions offered on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 at the Moss Justice Center in York. The classes will begin February 20, 2023, and will end with a formal graduation.

The Citizens’ Police Academy will introduce participants to the various functions of the York County Sheriff's Office and will feature instruction by staff from the different divisions of the Sheriff’s Office.  The goal of the Citizens’ Police Academy, in addition to providing an overview of the Sheriff’s Office, is to create meaningful partnerships with the citizens of York County and give the Sheriff’s Office the ability to serve our citizens better and more efficiently through the open exchange of knowledge and communication.

The Citizens’ Police Academy class is open to adults, 18 years of age and older, and is provided free of charge.
