Are you interested in becoming a Detention Officer with the York County Sheriff’s Office? If so, come tour the facility and begin your career!

The Detention Division will be holding open tours on following dates: 

  • Friday 11/18/2022
  • Friday 12/02/2022
  • Friday 12/09/2022
  • Friday 12/16/2022
  • Friday 12/30/2022

*** No tours Nov. 25th and Dec. 23rd. for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. ***

To help us with planning, please fill out this form - Detention Center Tour.

Those interested should plan on arriving to the Detention Center lobby at 8:45 a.m. Candidates will complete paperwork and then participate in the tour. 

The entire tour will take approximately 2 to 3 hours.    

Requirements: 

  • 21 years old
  • Valid State Driver’s License 
  • No felony convictions
  • No Cell Phones
  • No children
  • Dress business casual (No jeans, hats, open toed shoes, etc.)
  • Serious Candidates ONLY
