Lake Wylie Murder Suspect Arrested

YORK COUNTY, SC – After a two-months long intensive investigation York County Sheriff’s Detectives have made an arrest for the death of 20-year-old Terron Hubert in June of this year.

Zi’Quavious Jkwon La’Travis Caldwell, 17, was taken into custody August 6, 2022, at an apartment off Paces River Avenue in Rock Hill, SC. Caldwell is being charged as an adult with murder, armed robbery with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

“No murder gets old, and every victim matters, that’s why our detectives worked relentlessly for countless hours to develop a suspect in this case,” said Sheriff Kevin Tolson. “Thankfully with this development we hope the grieving family can find some rest.”

On Monday, June 6, a person walking on a trail at Quigley Park found a person lying on the ground by the water of Lake Wylie. Deputies arrived and discovered the person appeared to have been shot several times.

From this investigation it is believed the shooting occurred after an argument between the two men and Caldwell robbing the victim of money and personal items.

Caldwell is being held at the York County Detention Center without bond. This case is still under investigation.
