YORK COUNTY, SC – To maximize the productivity and efficiency of the York County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Kevin Tolson has promoted two Lieutenants to the rank of Captain. Lieutenant Lee Stoneburner has been promoted to Administrative Services Captain and Lieutenant Johnathan Reed has been promoted to Technical Services Captain.
“Due to the overall growth of the agency and the new services that we offer, I decided to upgrade an existing lieutenant’s position to a captain-level position,” said Sheriff Kevin Tolson.
The new Technical Services Division will comprise the Digital Forensic Unit, Forensics Services Unit, Evidence Control, Information Technology (IT) Unit, DNA Lab, and Drug Lab. Captain Reed was formerly the Lieutenant overseeing cyber-crimes and digital forensics unit.
The Administrative Services Captain oversees the Office of Professional Standards, Training Unit, Records, Polygraph Unit, Administrative Lieutenant and Sex Offender Registry Unit. Captain Stoneburner was formerly the Lieutenant overseeing the office of professional standards.
Captain Stoneburner has served with the YCSO for 23-years and Captain Reed has served for 15-years.
