YORK COUNTY, SC – York County Violent Crimes Detectives have made an arrest in a February 11, 2022 murder investigation. Robert Dequan Johnson, 26, of Rock Hill, SC has been charged with murder from a shooting that is believed to have taken place early in the morning on February 11th.
Just after 2:00 AM on February 11th Deputies found a person with gunshot wounds in a truck on I-77 near exit 85 in Fort Mill. The person was taken to the hospital by EMS where they later died.
Through the investigation, Detectives developed Johnson as a suspect. Later in the day just after 2:30 PM, Johnson was taken into custody after he ran from Deputies after a car chase that ended on Spruce Street in the city of Rock Hill.
Johnson was booked into the York County Detention Center and was denied bond. The identity of the victim will not be released until all family is notified by the York County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.
