YORK COUNTY, SC - York County Detention Center Chief John Hicks has been named South Carolina Jail Administrator of the year. Each year jail administrators across South Carolina nominate fellow administrators for this prestigious award. The award is peer-nominated and peer-voted upon.
Chief Hicks was presented with the award at the annual South Carolin Jail Administrators Conference in Myrtle Beach. In addition, Chief Hicks was given a gift of $500 from Trinity/Keefe Food Services.
Chief Hicks has worked for the York County Sheriff's Office for more than 13 years. He was selected as Chief Jail Administrator in 2017 by Sheriff Kevin Tolson.
