YORK COUNTY, SC – York County Detectives need help solving a shooting investigation. Eye witnesses, cellphone video, pictures or social media posts can help piece together what happened during a Juneteenth celebration. Anyone with information leading to an arrest will earn a $1,000 reward from Crime Stoppers of York County.
More than 500 people attended the Oakridge Juneteenth Freedom Day celebration at a field near the intersection of Oakridge Road and Bellaire Circle. The shooting occurred on June 19, 2021, just before 11:30 P.M. Three people were shot, two of the three victims were taken by personal cars to a hospital in Gaston County, North Carolina. The third victim, a 17-year-old male, was taken to Atrium Health Center in Charlotte and is currently listed in critical condition. All victims are residents of Gaston County, NC.
Currently no one has been charged in this incident.
