YORK COUNTY, SC – York County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating the first homicide in York County for 2021. On January 23, 2021 at approximately 9:40 P.M. Deputies were called to McShae Road in Rock Hill about a shooting incident. An 18-year-old male victim was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Currently no suspects are in custody and investigators believe this is not a random act of violence. At this time it does not appear this case is connected to a shooting incident that took place about three hours prior in the city of Rock Hill off Byars Street.
This case remains under investigation.
