YORK COUNTY, SC (YCSO NEWS) – Back by popular demand for one month York County Sheriff’s Office male deputies, and detention officers can participate in No-Shave November. For just the month of November Sheriff Kevin Tolson is loosening the policy on facial hair grooming standards for Deputies in uniform all for a good cause.
For 2019 the YCSO is joining law enforcement agencies across York County in raising money for the Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run. For a donation of $20, male deputies and staff can go shave free, bypassing the shaving regulations for the agency.
To include female deputies and staff, Sheriff Tolson is allowing female deputies to wear a pink band on their badges and/or a pink t-shirt with uniforms in lieu of the standard black t-shirt for the flat fee of $10.
This is the fifth year the York County Sheriff’s Office has participated in No Shave November. In 2018, Sheriff’s Office employees raised $2,260 participating in No-Shave November.
On November 30th, 2018 at 11:59pm will conclude the No-Shave November for the YCSO.
