[ARCHIVED] York County Sheriff Deputies graduate top of their SCCJA class

COLUMBIA, SC / YORK COUNTY, SC – York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson is pleased to announce Deputy Nicholas Davis earned the J.P. Strom Award at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Deputy Davis graduated August 30, 2019 from the SCCJA Basic Law Enforcement Class 701.

The J.P. Strom award is the highest and most prestigious award given to a graduate of the SCCJA.  Deputy Davis obtained the highest academic average with 98.83% throughout the 8-week Basic Law Enforcement Certification program at the academy.

In addition, Deputies Charlotte Clark and Lucas Frame were honored as SCCJA Distinguished Graduates for their high academic averages. Deputy Clark achieved 97.83% and Deputy Frame achieved 97%

There were 57 members of class 701.  Also graduating were Deputies Hawkins and Kloss. 

Deputy Davis, Clark, Frame, Hawkins and Kloss will now enter the York County Sheriff’s Office 12-week field training program.

In July of this year, Deputy Kyle Merck also earned the J.P. Strom Award.
