YORK COUNTY, SC (YCSO NEWS) In efforts to identify and stop human trafficking the York County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Group, York County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit, State Law Enforcement Division and the United States Department of Homeland Security arrested or cited 15 people in a human trafficking investigation.
Focusing in areas near the South Carolina state line in Fort Mill Deputies, YCSO Victim Advocates and Agents made 15 charges of prostitution, illegal narcotics or among other charges.
“Law enforcement in York County is committed to safety for our citizens,” said Sheriff Kevin Tolson. “Don't cross the line if you're going to commit crime in South Carolina. It’s a reminder to those from out of state that you cannot come to York County and commit crime without consequences.”
As a result of the investigation the following people were charged:
