2019 Citizens Academy GFX Applications accepted until February 13

YORK COUNTY, SC - The York County Sheriff's Office is currently taking applications for the Citizen's Police Academy. This year’s Citizens’ Police Academy will consist of ten sessions offered on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30.  The classes will begin March 4th, 2019 and will end with a formal graduation on May 11th.     

The Citizens’ Police Academy will introduce participants to the various functions of the York County Sheriff's Office and will feature instruction by staff from the different divisions of the Sheriff’s Office.  The goal of the Citizens’ Police Academy, in addition to providing an overview of the Sheriff’s Office, is to create meaningful partnerships with the citizens of York County and give the Sheriff’s Office the ability to serve our citizens better and more efficiently through the open exchange of knowledge and communication.

The Citizens’ Police Academy class is open to adults, 18 years of age and older, and is provided free of charge. 

Applications are available at the York County Sheriff's Office, any of the district offices, and online at www.yorkcountysheriff.com/citizensacademy.  Applications will be accepted through February 13th, 2019.
