YORK COUNTY, SC – Registration for the 2013 class of the York County Sheriff's Office Citizens’ Police Academy class has been extended.


Citizens’ Police Academy will consist of eight sessions offered on Monday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.  The classes will now run from March 4th to May 20th, 2013, and will end with a formal graduation.


The Citizens’ Police Academy class is open to adults, 18 years of age and older, and is provided free of charge.


The Citizens’ Police Academy will introduce participants to the various functions of the York County Sheriff's Office and will feature instruction by staff from the different divisions of the Sheriff’s Office.  The goal of the Citizens’ Police Academy, in addition to providing an overview of the Sheriff’s Office, is to create meaningful partnerships with the citizens of York County and give the Sheriff’s Office the ability to serve our citizens better and more efficiently through the open exchange of knowledge and communication.
