The York County Sheriff's Office has an extensive employment process that ranges from the submission of the Pre-Testing Questionnaire, to thorough testing sessions, and a full background investigation, which will include a polygraph exam. Given the fact that we take pride in seeking out the best candidates to fill our positions, it is not uncommon for this, our sensitive selection process and elements (which are found on your Pre-Testing Questionnaire), to take anywhere from three months to one year.
