2008 Winter Seminar

Food And Lodging

Meals are included from Sunday evening supper, through Friday morning breakfast. The camp has heated cabins complete with electricity and bunk beds that sleep twelve. Toilets and shower facilities are nearby the bunkhouses. You must provide your own sleeping bags or blankets. Be prepared to share the cabins with others. This is a package deal for the seminar; therefore meals cannot be broken down on a per meal basis. Hotels are available at additional cost approximately 12-15 miles away. Upon request, the names and phone numbers will be supplied, however, any outside reservations are the attendees responsibility.

Registrations

Registrations will be open until November 1st, 2008. The cost of the seminar is $300.00. The registration fee is due by November 1st, 2008.

Attendance

This class is for tracking hounds only. No other breed of dog will be permitted on the property. Kennels are not provided, so please bring your own crates or pens. Handlers will be responsible for the upkeep of the dog’s area.
      

Training

Emphasis will be placed on actual fieldwork with day and night training. Hounds will be worked in a primarily wilderness area, however urban areas are available. A questionnaire for each handler is attached to determine classes and instructors. NPBA guidelines will be adhered to exclusively. All handlers that have not attended the NPBA’s Basic Scent Class should arrive by 8:00am on Sunday to check-in. The class will begin at 9:00am.

Note

No alcoholic beverages are permitted at the camp. There are no special activities scheduled or provided for guests. The event is designed for the training of handlers and hounds. NO CHILDREN ARE PERMITTED AT THE SEMINAR.
