1. How do I find a report?

Sheriff's Office reports can be located in a notebook in the lobby of the Moss Justice Center. The reports in the book are current up to 5 days. It is made available for reporters 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The YCSO currently does not have the ability to post reports online.

2. Can I pull a report from your website?

No you cannot. We do have offices located in York, Clover, Rock Hill and Fort Mill for your convenience to pick up a copy of a report. It is best to know the report number before asking the district office clerks for a report.

3. If I cannot get in touch with the PIO what should I do?

First: DO NOT call Public Safety Communications, aka. Dispatch seeking information pertaining to law enforcement matters. You are tying up a phone line for someone calling in with a legitimate emergency.
Second: The PIO is available via phone, text or email. Please be patient when seeking information from the PIO.
Third: Crime Prevention Officer, Deputy Kim Morehouse is the Assistant PIO when PIO Trent Faris is out of the office or on vacation.

4. How do I get an arrest warrant?

After the arrest warrant has been served to the suspect, the arrest warrant is made available. Simply contact the PIO and he or she will get a copy of the arrest warrant from the Detective or Deputy over the case.

5. How do I find out which agency arrested someone?

We have a new feature on the sheriff's office website under inmate search. In the far right column next to the charge description will have the arresting agency's name.

6. How do I submit a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request?

The Sheriff's Office Staff Attorney, Heather Mouzon, accepts FOIA requests. Requests must be submitted to the Staff Attorney via United States Postal Service to 1675-2A York Hwy, York SC 29745.
